Developing Your Networking SkillsNowhere is the contrast between the way women and men do business clearer than when it comes to networking. Networking is a natural strength for women, but how often have you attended a networking meeting to find yourself cast adrift in a room full of strangers to fend for yourself?This can be a very disheartening experience. A popular solution to this dilema is speed-networking but that has it's limitations. Speed networking usually means that you have to listen to and give a dozen "elevator pitches," which is really more "speed selling" than "speed networking". It is important to understand that Networking is not selling. Networking is building long term relationships with people worth knowing. GenderShift meetings are designed to be fun. Each month we will engage with a different networking exercise/game to help you develop your networking skills. We will use facilitated mentoring activities to help you to develop mentoring skills. And each month there will be a high quality workshop addressing key business development skills and knowledge.
